Lincicome Ties For Second At Founders Cup

large_brittany-lincicome515 This past weekend the LPGA held its inaugural RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup. This great event showcases the LPGA’s finest players and benefits their chosen charities. The total prize pool of $1,000,000 was split, $500,000 going to the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Program and the other $500,000 being split amongst the top ten finisher’s charities of choice. We are very fortunate to have LPGA star Brittany Lincicome serve on our Board of Directors and she graciously chose us as her charity. With three blazing rounds of golf (67, 68 and 70), Brittany finished in a tie for 2nd place, just one stroke back, with another fantastic golfer, Paula Creamer. When it’s all said and done The First Tee of St. Petersburg will receive all of Brittany’s earnings from the event, approximately $80,000. It takes the help and support of great people like Brittany Lincicome to allow us to do what we do best which is provide quality golf instruction and valuable life skills to all of the youth in our community who would like the opportunity. Hats off to Brittany for a job well done and for playing her heart out even though she wasn’t playing for herself in terms of money earned. It’s refreshing that in today’s society people can still go out there and do great things for other people and this is a amazing example of that.  People helping people, that’s what it’s all about. Junior golf was a very important part of Brittany’s life at a young age and she continues to show that she has a passion for junior golf and helping the youth in her community. Kudos Brittany!!! We’re all proud of what you’ve done and continue to do for our First Tee Family.
